NAA: AA2017 Soliciting Session Chairs/Organizers

The Aquaculture America 2017 (AA2017) Steering Committee is looking for enthusiastic new session chairs for upcoming Aquaculture America conferences. The success of these conferences is due largely to session chairs. These creative, dedicated and engaged members develop the comprehensive conference program comprised of both technical and producer-oriented sessions. The Steering Committee encourages everyone, especially the members of the AA2017 sponsoring organizations  — US Aquaculture Society (USAS), National Aquaculture Association (NAA), and Aquaculture Suppliers Association (ASA) — to consider serving as a session chair.

For those who want to become involved with future conferences, but are not yet ready to commit to chairing a session, consider mentoring under an experienced chair or serving as an assistant chair or moderator. Serving as, or working with, a session chair is a great way to network and connect with others working in the many different sectors of aquaculture and can lead to successful collaborations to further your career.

The Steering Committee offers an open invitation to students and younger aquaculture stakeholders to get involved with the Aquaculture America Conference and to become engaged members of an aquaculture organization. A common cliché is that “our youth are our future.” We believe this is true, and we welcome your participation!  The US Aquaculture Society and the National Aquaculture Association are exhibiting at the upcoming Aquaculture 2016 Conference Trade Show. Please stop by and talk with a representative about becoming a student member.

If you are interested in becoming more active with future Aquaculture America conferences and sessions, approach a session chair or one of the Steering Committee members at the Aquaculture 2016 Conference and ask to help organize or co-chair a future session. If you have a suggestion for a future session or feel an area has not been covered by program topics in the past, contact one of the Steering Committee members below. We value your input!

We look forward to the opportunity of working with you on Aquaculture America 2017!
