New Seafood Dietary Guidelines Added to FishWatch

seafood dietaryLast week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Agriculture released the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. One of the key recommendations noted that a healthy eating pattern includes a variety of protein foods including-of course-seafood. Unfortunately, that message is not being heard by consumers. The attached graph visibly demonstrates that Americans are not eating enough seafood. Moving forward, we will use the new guidelines as another way to communicate the importance of seafood to a healthy diet and point folks to our new easy-to-use FishWatch website for more information.
