Coastal Commission Executive Director Possible Dismissal

The California Coastal Commission will hold a public hearing during its February 10-12, 2016 meeting in Morro Bay to consider the continued employment of its Executive Director, Dr. Charles Lester (view recent article). The public hearing to consider the possible dismissal of the Commission’s Executive Director is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, February 10. The official public notice and agenda of the Commission meeting will be posted on the Commission’s website www.coastal.ca.gov by Friday, January 22. Specifically, two items regarding the Executive Director have been set for public hearing and/or closed session:
1. The employment status of the Executive Director; and
2. If necessary, consideration of the appointment of an interim Executive Director and/or the consideration of the process for employment of a new Executive Director.
The Commission meeting will be held at the Inn at Morro Bay, 60 State Park Road, in Morro Bay and is open to the public and the public is encouraged to attend the Commission meeting. The meeting can be viewed online here.
