2016 SBIR Solicitation is Open

The 2016 NOAA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Solicitation is open for Phase I funding. This year there are two subtopics relevant to marine aquaculture, which can be found on pages 54-57 of the solicitation:

  • Improving Outcomes of Marine Aquaculture via Genomic Approaches
  • Developing Technologies for Offshore Aquaculture in the United States

Find the full solicitation, more information, and all necessary forms here.

The solicitation will close January 14, 2016.

The SBIR program is a highly competitive program that encourages domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) that has the potential for commercialization. All SBIR proposals must directly benefit the NOAA mission, but should also be responsive to the greater market demands in order to be successful. Learn more about NOAA’s SBIR program here.

The Government anticipates making multiple Phase I awards, each with a period of performance of six (6) months and a ceiling price not to exceed $120,000.00.
